3 points are 3 points; and all the sweeter when Hearts and Rangers drop points!

Not a vintage display by any stretch of the imagination but a competent win and 3 points in the bag. On a weekend where Hearts and Rangers dropped points, we made inroads into cutting the lead at the top of the table and obtained some confidence after the defeat at Tynecastle!

The team gave a performance that did little to get the fans off their seats but 2 goals, a clean sheet and 3 points is all we can ask for at this stage. Lets hope that a few signings will arrive and the likes of Jarosik will settle to spice up the Celts. The team saw Lennon left out which caused much furore, with the media claiming he was dropped, whilst the club stated that it was simply due to an injury. Telfer also had an injury that led to the Celts playing Wallace at left back, thus allowing Wilson to move across to the right flank.

The game itself saw decent performances by McGeady and Petrov, with a quality second half drive capping off a good shift from the Bulgarian captain - in what hopefully not but possibly could be his last goal in the Hoops at Celtic Park. The other goal came from the head of McManus from a Naka corner in the first half.

There was not much other action aside from a sitter missed by Kenny Miller and a St Mirren freekick that came off the crossbar. It was also good to see Beattie return to action in the Hoops - lets hope he can get a sustained injury-free run now.
